A Health Crisis

Butte County ranks #1 in California for pancreatic cancer. South Oroville (Zip 95965) sits in a documented cancer cluster. We cannot afford to add new toxins to our air.

Despite the “green” branding, biomass is more climate-polluting at the smokestack than coal. We refuse to wait 100 years for trees to regrow while we breathe the smoke today.

Why is it Dangerous?

The proposed site at 3050 S. 5th Avenue is “infested with dioxins” (D.A. Mike Ramsey). Disturbing this soil unearths 40 years of illegal ash dumping and toxic fires.
